Standard licenses issued after March 2017 cover vehicles under 3.5t GVW. Kei-campers and vancons are fine; some large cabcons may require a semi-medium license. Confirm with each store before booking.
A vehicle that seats 4 may sleep only 2–3. For longer trips with more luggage, choose a model with one extra sleeping spot over your actual group size.
