- Match your arrival time against opening hours. Distances in Hokkaido are long, so you’ll sometimes run behind schedule. Keeping a facility on your route that’s open past 9 PM — Yunohako Komichi, Tancho no Sato Onsen, or Oketo Katsuyama Onsen, for example — gives you a safety net.
