How much does a Moving Inn campervan really cost? Reading the price list vs. the booking form (early-bird, insurance, mileage), when your card is charged, and how to book [2026-27]

Example: a HIACE LX (New Chitose Airport branch) for 3 nights, booked 90 days ahead, costs ¥48,730. This includes the optional damage waiver and assumes up to 300 km per day.

Third-party, property and vehicle cover is included in the base rate. The damage waiver is an optional cover that reduces your liability for vehicle damage during the rental period to zero.

For that price you get 3 nights in a vehicle with full bedding, a cooking kit, an FF heater and a 40-litre fridge. The bed is 120 cm wide, so you can sleep at an RV park or campground wherever you drive, without booking a hotel. Tell the staff what you want in the post-booking questionnaire, and they suggest a route through campgrounds and hot springs (LX page on the booking site, checked 15 Oct 2026).

Why does the booking form show a different price from the rate table?

• Early-bird conditions: the early-bird plans on the booking form (30% at 90 days, 20% at 60 days) are for 3 nights or more.
• Seasonal rates: the official page says rates vary by season and the exact price comes from the booking form quote.
• Insurance and mileage: the optional waiver and any distance over 300 km per day are charged on top of the rate table.

On the booking form, the LX basic plan was from ¥22,000, the same as the rate table, and the LAND CRUISER BAMBA basic plan was from ¥26,400 (rate table: from ¥14,300; checked 15 Oct 2026).

One night means up to 33 hours, and pickup and return are 9:00–18:00.

There are two discounts: 15% off for 2 nights or more, and early-bird rates of 20% off at 60 days and 30% off at 90 days.

How to book

1. On the official rental page, choose a vehicle and press “Make a reservation”.
2. On the booking site, enter your dates, 1 room and the number of people, then press “Calculate price”.
3. Choose a plan and complete “Enter personal information” with your details and payment.
4. In the questionnaire sent after booking, tell the staff where you want to go.
5. On the day, go to the branch between 9:00 and 18:00 for the licence check and contract (airport transfer is free).

You can switch the booking site to Japanese, English, Korean or Chinese at the top of the screen. Groups of 5 or more can also book by email.
